GLORIA MYLOTT´S WORLD OF PAPER
Gloria Mylott, born December 17, 1963 in Palm Beach, Florida.
At the age of 6 months she went to live to Colombia with her family and has lived there ever since.
She is a talented artist who foreshadows her creations leaving a personal and unique trade of her own.
Studied in Benedictine School where she graduated in 1982.
Her love for art drove her to study textile design, at Arts and Design School “Taller Cinco”. She rapidly discovered how to weave on looms with different materials like, virgin wool, leather, horse hair, copper strings, and natural fibres such as, cotton, fique, bark and seeds. She also learned to paint on Wood, oil canvas and in 1999 she discovered Papier Machier which simply fascinated her.
She realized that with this material she could create real sized sculptures and express through them different personalities of women. This authentic and genuine art with its own judgement reflects women’s feelings and their own way to assume life through their colourful and vivid clothing.
She moulds and shapes these women that become sculptures making each one of them unique.
Gloria, has participated in different Art Fairs with great success and her sculptures now a days are all over the world.

SOLAMENTE A PARTIR DE LAS ÚLTIMAS DÉCADAS DEL SIGLO XX SURGE EN EL MUNDO UN CLARO MOVIMIENTO ARTÍSTICO LIDERADO POR MUJERES, PERO SOBRE TODO QUE HABLABAN DEL MUNDO FEMENINO DESDE LA PERSPECTIVA DE ELLAS MISMAS. ES ASÍ, COMO APARECE COMO UNA EVIDENTE FUERZA, GRANDES MANIFESTACIONES EN VARIADOS CAMPOS DEL ARTE QUE MOSTRARON UN MUNDO ARTÍSTICO QUE LOGRARON DESPLEGAR LA RIQUEZA DEL MUNDO FEMENINO A TRAVÉS DE LOS OJOS DE SUS PROTAGONISTAS.
GLORIA MYLOTT ES UNA DE SUS PROTAGONISTAS. DESDE HACE AÑOS VIENE BUSCANDO A TRAVÉS DE SUS MANIQUÍES ROMPER LOS ESQUEMAS TRADICIONALES QUE SOLO REFENCIABAN EL APAREJO MASCULINO QUE INVADÍA EL ESPACIO ÍNTIMO DE LAS ALCOBAS , EN LOS YA REPETIDOS MILES DE VECES “SOLTERONES”; Y EN SU BÚSQUEDA DE SU PROPIA EXPRESIÓN ,DESARROLLA Y ELABORA SUS MANIQUÍES, QUE MÁS QUE SIMPLES APAREJOS PARA ABANDONAR LA ROPA , REPRESENTAN UN MUNDO INFINITO DE EMOCIONES Y SENTIMIENTOS FEMENINOS. CADA UNO DE ELLOS, LLEVA IMPRESAS LAS MARCAS DE ALEGRÍAS O DOLORES, O TRISTEZAS GUARDADAS, O VOLUPTUOSIDADES INCONFESADAS QUE VAN IMPLÍCITAS EN CADA MUJER.
